Peter Schoppe

Peter Schoppe is a Bluepill. As a child he was forced into therapy session.

He worked as a computer researcher under Hardin. Hardin was critical about technological civilization of the Matrix and had built a cabin in the mountains as his brother's property, who was in Malaysia. It was "off the grid" that didn't exist on county tax maps.

He created the EPOs until Hardin worked with them, something which enraged him. Shoppe then contacted Rain, a hacker, to whom asked to hack into Hardin's system and steal an EPO. When phoned by Rain, he went to her apartment, and analyzed the EPO she downloaded. The EPO somehow through the Internet connected with the machines network in the real world and the two people saw on the screen a "machine world" with bald men inside pods, including a "clone" of Peter himself. Then Rain saw from a camera that suited men approached them.

They jumped from her window and Peter took her with her car to his work, where he saw that it had been transformed to a shopping mall called Evergreen Mall. Then he led her to his cabin where they spent the night. By analyzing the CDs Rain had burnt, Peter realized that Hardin had opened the doors to something very important

The next morning, Rain insisted to go meet her ex-boyfriend who would broadcast the EPOs. As he refueled his car, agents once more showed up and shot Rain dead, perhaps because of the phonecall she just did. Peter ran to the restroom, and when he came down, every element of the fight was erased. He then almost attempted suicide but regretted.

Soon after, he entered an internet cafe and prepared e-mails with EPOs attached, to hacker and techie sites, networks and the Pentagon, and finally into Hardin's system.

When the sending ends, the cafe was rearranged and Peter could not get out from any door. He saw cars approaching. He threw a chair against a window, but the glass flowed like taffy.

The moments when agents enter and shoot him, he notices on screen of his pod-self in the "machine world" and sees everything in green code. On his last thought, he sees the EPOs shoot into the distance of the green over-reality.
