- For The Oracle's assistant, see The Priestess.
Priestesses were women of Zion who played a role in the Temple.
Role[]
Much like the Temple itself, little is known of their role, but during gatherings they distributed bread to the people, ordinarily used to eating the single-celled protein and amino acid colloid gruel.
This is reminiscent of the Christian traditions of the feeding of the five thousand (Matthew 14:13–21, Mark 6:31-44, Luke 9:10-17 and John 6:5-15) and the three thousand (Mark 8:1-9 and Matthew 15:32-39) as well as the splitting of the bread in the sacrament of Eucharist.
It is currently unclear if their role is religious in the traditional sense, related to The Oracle's prophecy of The One or humanist in nature.
