Extinct[]
Wouldn't all life on earth become extinct because of the destruction of Zion along with all the bluepills in the matrix, plus the destruction of all non-sentient life on earth by Operation Dark Storm - if the One decided to go back into the matrix? --Peacock486 18:32, December 15, 2009 (UTC)
- That's the Architect's threat. In fact humanity might well become extinct (except perhaps in digital forms such as the Oligarchs), but life would go on for the Machines (if you can call AI alive) at the levels of survival they'd be "willing to accept", and some other life (like the ducks, frogs, slugs, fungi and GM corn not to mention the extremophiles); eventually life would return to the planet. --xensyriaT 23:22, November 20, 2012 (UTC)
Zion[]
I don't understand how the destruction of the Matrix would ultimately affect Zion. If machine city is destroied then that should be it, right? What kind of connection does Zion have with the Matrix that would cause the humans to die?

- @S.adam.hamilton: If Neo let the Matrix be destroyed, then the Machines wouldn't have as much energy, but would still survive (as the Architect says: "there are levels of survival we are prepared to accept"). The Machines were going to destroy Zion anyway, as a potential threat, whether Neo chose to reset the Matrix or not. --xensyriaT 19:36, November 26, 2016 (UTC)
